Follicular unit transplant or transfer (FUT) is an efficient and effective option for harvesting hair follicles and transplanting them in a new area. For those with significant hair loss, FUT procedures can transplant larger numbers of hair grafts in less time than other methods like FUE. With FUT, a strip of the scalp is removed, usually from the back of the head where there is thicker hair. The strip contains multiple hair grafts that are removed from the strip, then implanted in the desired area.

NeoGraft FUE has many benefits, including accuracy and less invasive techniques, but there are advantages to FUT procedures. For those that need thousands of hair grafts transferred to achieve the desired effect, FUT can be a more time and cost effective option. FUT can be completed in less time than FUE procedures and usually costs less per hair graft. The downside is that removing the strips of scalp will leave a linear scar on the back of the head, but this is usually unnoticeable if there is enough hair in the area.
